Angela Renee Candelario-Smith, affectionately known as Angie, age 54, was born on November 25, 1970, in Pontiac, MI to Ralph and Ruth (Dunlap) Candelario. She departed this world on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in Rose City, MI, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she cherished. Angie lived in Rose City for 20 years, formerly of Waterford, MI.
Angie was a proud graduate of Kettering High School in Waterford, MI, class of 1989. Her professional journey led her to a variety of roles where she demonstrated her compassionate nature and dedication to helping others. She began her career at Trappers in Rose City, later working as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Home Health Care. Her commitment to serving her community continued at Ogemaw Heights High School, where she contributed her talents to the media center. Most recently, she brought her warmth and welcoming spirit to her position as a clerk at Spectrum.
A true animal lover, Angie found great joy in rescuing dogs and nurturing them back to health. Her generous heart extended beyond her home, as she devoted her time and financial resources to the Rea Family Animal Shelter in West Branch, embodying her passion for animal rescue. Angie took great pleasure in caring for her three beloved rescue dogs, treating them with the utmost love and compassion.
Angie was more than the sum of her remarkable career and charitable efforts; she was a caring and loving person who brightened the lives of everyone around her. As a Scentsy director, she flourished in building connections and friendships, often relishing in visits with the many special people she met along the way. Those who had the privilege to know her will remember her warm smile and the genuine care she extended to all.
In addition to her love for animals, Angie found joy in cooking and was an avid user of Pampered Chef products, sharing her culinary creations with family and friends.
Angie leaves behind her beloved daughters, Toni (Felix) Castro, Kimmie Ledesma, Tara Podsiad, and Taylor Bistrick. She is survived by her devoted mother, Ruth (Phil) Skiff, and her father, Ralph (Deanna) Candelario. Angie's legacy will also live on through her cherished grandchildren, Olive, Vayda, Larry, Noah, Kalilah, and Kaileena. She is further survived by her loving sister, Christina (Wade Weaver) Alvarado, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who all held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Evelyn Hoffman, Edward Dunlap, Gaudencio "Don", and Margarette "Virginia" Candelario.
The impact she made in the lives of those she loved will forever resonate. Her generous spirit and dedication to uplifting others will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
