Allen Artie Slade

Allen Artie Slade, age 72, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, MI. He was born on September 5, 1948 in Pontiac, MI to Artie and Ruby (Hubel) Slade. Allen lived in West Branch since the early 1980’s, formerly of Pontiac. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, as a member of the 101st Airborne Division and 82nd Infantry. He worked for GM Truck and Bus in Pontiac and later moved to West Branch to raise his family. Allen was a retired bus driver for the West Branch Rose City School District.

Allen is survived by his children, Julie DeColumna of West Branch, Amanda Slade of Highlands Ranch, CO, Jennifer (Joe) Rough of West Branch, Artie Slade of West Branch, and Andy Slade of West Branch; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Kasie, Jeff, and Scott; brother, Gary (Debra) Slade of Port Huron; sister, Sheila Iseminger of Bloomington, IL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Karen, and brothers, Mike, Dan, Dwight and Tim.

Visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held with precautions, due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Disabled Veterans of Ogemaw County.
