Allan R. Hoxie

Allan R. Hoxie, age 77, passed away Monday, July 31, 2006 at Bortz Health Care Facility in West Branch surrounded by his loving family. Al was a resident of West Branch since 1971, formerly of Erie, Michigan. Al married Nancy June 28, 1986 in Ann Arbor, MI. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Kiwanis Club of West Branch and the 126th Infantry Association. Al was a past Governer of the Michigan District of Kiwanis, retired from the Army National Guard as Command Sargeant Major in 1982 and retired from the Michigan State Police in 1981. Surviving family members include Al’s wife Nancy from West Branch, son Roger (Vicki) Hoxie of Pleasant Lake, son Leslie (Bonnie) Hoxie of West Branch, son Ronald (Vickey) Hoxie of Boyne City, son Mark (Cindy) Livesay of Saline, son Scott (Brenda) Livesay of Jackson and 14 grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Donna (Harold) Main of Mission, Texas, Joyce (Joel) Haydenburk of Ionia, Patricia (Jim) Reuhs of Ionia, Linda (Ron) Green of Portland, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Al in death was his first wife Helen (Pike) Hoxie, daughter Penny (Hoxie) Tucker, daughter Sandra Kaye Hoxie, brother Lyle and his wife Ann, sister Annetta Zeller and her husband Robert, Al’s parents and several nieces and nephews. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Al will lie in state at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Reverend Mary Lynch Mallory and Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or Kiwanis of Michigan Foundation.
