Alfred J. Zettel

Alfred J. Zettel passed away Saturday August 22, 2009 in Bay City he was 81 years old. Alfred was born and raised in West Branch and lived there his whole life. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and belonged to the K of C both of West Branch. Alfred served as Horton Township Trustee for 34 years and also owned and operated Zettel Dairy Farms. Alfred is survived by his wife of 56 years Loretta Zettel of West Branch, Gary (Diane) Zettel of West Branch, Diane (Mike Muhich) Zettel of San Diego, Kurt (Wanda) Zettel of West Branch, and Lara (Mike) Lavoie of Spokane, Wa. He had eight grandchildren Kurt Joseph II, Jody, Tim, Jackie, Stacey, Thomas, Matthew, and John Paul. Seven brothers and sisters Jenny Kruch, Cecil Zettel, Rosanne Davis, Jerome Zettel, Kenneth Zettel, and Yvonne Ostrander all of West Branch, and Wayne Zettel of Tecumseh. He was preceded in death by a brother Eugene Zettel. Visitation will be held Monday August 24, 2009 at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch from 4-9PM. The Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. There will be a scripture service Monday evening at 7:30PM. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate. Memorial Contributions can be made to the St. Joseph School Debt Fund.
