Alan David Gwaltney, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in West Branch. He lived in St. Helen for the past 40 years, formerly of Flint. David “Eli” was born on March 17, 1951 in Flint to Victor and Artella (Beaver) Gwaltney. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1969 and played football and was in wrestling. He enjoyed music and riding motorcycles.
David “Eli” is survived by his children, Beth (Ron) Allie of Noblesville, IN, Kevin (Cortney) Gwaltney of Fenton, and Kari Gwaltney of Fenton; father, Victor Gwaltney of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Faith, Nathan, Kali, Cole, and Bryce; sisters, JoAnn Branch of Santa Fe, NM, Barbara Adams of Rogers, AR, and Eva (Dennis) Moser of Fayetteville, AR; several stepchildren, including his caregivers, Randy (Kathy) Rabb of St. Helen; several step grandchildren including, Randy II, Savannah, Nicole and John Robert; and several step great grandchildren, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his loving companion, Joyce Rabb, mother, Artella Taylor, stepmom, Ginger Gwaltney, and sister, Debbie Englehardt.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Rodney Morrison will officiate.
Visitation will be held with precautions, due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.
