Gordon E Curtis, age 70, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home in St. Helen, MI after a long illness. He has lived in St. Helen since 1995, formerly of Flint, MI. Gordon was born to Harry and Bertha (Fox) Curtis in Lapeer, MI on June 29, 1943. He graduated from Davison High School in 1961 and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Bangor, ME until 1965. Gordon married Linda Hall on June 9, 1964. He worked for General Motors as a painter and retired in 1995. He attended the University of Michigan where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1979. Gordon and Linda moved to St. Helen in 1995, where they have enjoyed retirement. Gordon loved baseball, golf, bowling and spending time with his family doing the same activities. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Curtis of St. Helen, MI; children: Veronica Curtis of St. Helen, MI, Michael Curtis of Flint, MI, Angela Curtis of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren: James Curtis, Ashley Dennis, Parker Scott, Megin Dennis, Casey Rodabaugh, Samantha Rodabaugh; 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and siblings: Norma (Ray) Maginn of Columbus, Ohio, Eugene Curtis of Davison, Lucy Allen of Grand Blanc, Eldon (Margaret) Curtis of Rose City, Jeanette (Pat) Gavagan of Flint, Sarah (Rich) Wilson of Plant City, Fl., and Cathy (David) Kerr of Holly. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation at the St. Helen Community Baptist Church in St. Helen, MI will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands or Childhood Cancer Research Fund.
