Jean Ellen Howey

Jean Ellen Howey, age 74, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at The Gladwin Pines Nursing Home in Gladwin, MI. She had lived in St. Helen for the past 45 years, formerly of Saginaw. Jean was born on March 2, 1943 to Noah and Jean (Martin) Metevia in Saginaw. She was retired from Richfield Township and enjoyed painting, making jewelry and bird watching. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, who called her “Gummy”.

Jean is survived by her son, Frank (Gail) Howey of West Branch; daughter, Brenda (Ken) Howey-Martin of Richmond; grandchildren, Curtis Martin, Carl Howey, and Jacob Martin; and sister, Celia (Rick) Rossiter of Columbus, OH. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Howey; daughter, Denise Howey; brothers, Joseph Metevia and Keith Metevia; and sister, Deborah Frost.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m.
